TV Land's teen angst BS is about to get a body count.

Reps for the network confirmed to The Huffington Post that a comedic anthology series based on the greatest teen movie ever made, "Heathers," is in development.

In a press release, the network described the show as a "pitch-black comedy" that will be set in the present day and feature "a very different but equally vicious group of Heathers."

Very different, indeed. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this time around queen bee Heather Chandler looks more like Martha Dumptruck Dunnstock, Heather Duke is a male who identifies as genderqueer, and Heather McNamara is a black lesbian.

From the press release, it seems that Winona Ryder and Christian Slater's characters from the 1988 film, Veronica and J.D, will also be featured in the series.

Dating a murderous psychopath and figuring out what to wear to your best friend’s suicide are typical teen problems for Veronica Sawyer. With a pilot script order for “Heathers,” TV Land is digging into the pitch-black comedy for their first anthology series, based on the cult classic film. Set in the present day, our heroine will be dealing with a very different but equally vicious group of Heathers. The script is written by Jason Micallef (“Butter”), and Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi will executive produce for Lakeshore Entertainment.

TV Land's new "Heathers" comes after Bravo's decision in 2013 not to move forward with a reboot series that would center on the daughters of the original film's Heathers -- the Ashleys.
