Democratic presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tweeted her support of Tamir Rice and his family on Monday.

Tamir was 12 years old when a police officer in Cleveland, Ohio, gunned him down in November. Official reports released over the weekend say the policeman, who has not been suspended since the shooting, acted reasonably given that the situation was volatile and he had little information.

Clinton's tweet came in the wake of public outcry and frustration at the reports' findings. The presidential hopeful has been working to garner support among Black Lives Matter activists through meetings and vocal demonstrations of solidarity.

President Barack Obama has yet to respond to the reports about Tamir's shooting.

According to the reports, two officers, Timothy Loehmann and Frank Garmback, approached Tamir after a bystander called the police station saying a black male was "pointing his gun at people." The caller also stated that the gun was "probably fake" and the male was "probably a juvenile."

A video of the shooting shows Tamir alone in the park and talking on his cell phone when the police arrive. Loehmann shoots Tamir, who is seen reaching toward the airsoft gun at his hip, before Garmback leaves the vehicle. Tamir died in the hospital the next day.

The reports say there is no proof the officers gave a warning before shooting Tamir, according to CNN. The reports do not offer a conclusive opinion about whether either officer should be prosecuted.
