All Whites coach Anthony Hudson says his players are fit and poised to fire after naming an unchanged squad to contest the Confederations Cup.

Hudson confirmed the same 23 players involved in a pre-tournament tour of Europe will line up for the FIFA event in Russia.

New Zealand face the hosts in the tournament's opening match in Saint Petersburg on June 17.

Hudson has been pleased with what he's seen during the build-up period, which featured a 1-0 loss to World No 26 Northern Ireland in Belfast and a 5-2 defeat of Dublin club side Cabinteely FC.

Their final hit-out is on Monday in a friendly against Belarus in Minsk.

Hudson's 96th-ranked squad are injury-free and he says they are starting to grasp the methods to be employed in Russia.

He believes they are capable of upsets in their group, despite the lofty status of opponents Russia, Mexico and Portugal.

"We are not going to get carried away with who we are playing, we know they are top teams but we are a strong team and we are going there focused on ourselves and the task at hand," he said.

"We are not going to Russia to take part, we are going there to achieve something significant."

The side is led by Leeds United striker Chris Wood in the absence of injured West Ham defender Winston Reid.
