Hundreds Of Companies Join Forces Against Anti-LGBT Bill In Georgia

Major companies are speaking out against a Georgia bill that would effectively legalize discrimination against LGBT people. 

After the Georgia Senate passed the First Amendment Defense Act in February, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff came out forcefully against what he and other critics see as discrimination masquerading as religious expression. 

"Nobody wants a discrimination law in America today," Benioff said in an interview with HuffPost last week. "But there are still bigots out there fighting for people to be discriminated against."

On Thursday, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal said he would reject any bill that "allows discrimination in our state in order to protect people of faith."

Georgia Prospers, a group fighting the bill,  says that over 400 companies have voiced their opposition to it.
