The man, wearing a white hoodie and sunglasses, entered the ANZ Bank on Glenfield Road in Glenfield just after 1.10pm on Wednesday before fleeing with stolen cash, police say.

No one is thought to have been injured. Police dogs and their handlers have tracked down a car in the area, but it is not yet known whether it was involved in the robbery.

A lockdown placed on Bayview Primary as a precautionary measure has now been lifted.

The man is thought to be aged in his mid 20s and is described as Maori or Pacific Islander.
