Hunua MP Andrew Bayly says 24 hours of torrential rain has caused substantial damage to infrastructure and stock in his electorate.

"Hunua has born the brunt of this week's bad weather, with flooding and road closures affecting a large part of the electorate," he said on Wednesday.

"While there is substantial damage to infrastructure and stock, I'm informed there are luckily no serious injuries."

Mr Bayly says fire brigades from Beachlands, Clevedon, Hunua, Kawakawa Bay and Orere, working with the policy, army, civil defence and local volunteers have been doing "an amazing job" helping communities deal with emergencies.

"I urge those affected by the weather to keep an eye out for their neighbours and make sure their families are safe and secure," he said.
