Visitors Sassuolo have stunned Inter Milan 2-1 in the Italian Serie A on Sunday.

Inter Milan have suffered a sixth defeat in their past eight Serie A outings as visiting Sassuolo stunned them 2-1 on Sunday.

Pietro Iemmello fired a low shot into the bottom right corner of the goal in the 37th minute and tapped in his second goal of the game five minutes after the break with Pol Lirola providing the assist.

Nerazzurri substitute Eder struck on 70 minutes with the aid of a deflected shot.

Inter this week dismissed Stefano Pioli and appointed youth-team coach Stefano Vecchi to steer the squad in the remaining games of the season.

Inter are in eighth place as Fiorentina leapfrogged them by beating Lazio 3-2 on Saturday, while hours later fifth-place Atalanta sealed a Europa League spot when they drew 1-1 with sixth-placed AC Milan.

Sassuolo are in 12th position.
