Iraq-bound NZ soldiers prepare for mission

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 14/04/2016

A third group of New Zealand soldiers has flown across the ditch to train alongside their Australian counterparts before heading to Iraq.

The group of more than 100 Defence Force personnel flew out of Christchurch on Friday and will spend the next three weeks in Adelaide preparing for challenges they may face in the Middle East.

The New Zealand and Australian soldiers will join Task Group Taji in Iraq and train local soldiers to help combat ISIS - a programme which has been running for almost a year.
