Lin-Manuel Miranda has joined forces with Jennifer Lopez to record a song that will be used as a fundraiser for the victims of the shootings in Orlando.

Pop diva Jennifer Lopez has teamed up with Broadway wunderkind Lin-Manuel Miranda for a new song honouring the victims of the nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida.

Love Make The World Go Round is a tribute to the 49 people killed on June 12 at Pulse, a gay nightclub.

Lopez posted a video on social media of the two recording the unfinished track, calling it "something very special." In the clip, Miranda raps, "What we got is love even when the sinners hate us, we cannot let them diminish or intimidate us."

All proceeds from the sale of the yet-to-be-released song will benefit the non-profit Hispanic Federation's Proyecto Somos Orlando, to provide long-term mental health services for survivors and victims' families, according to US broadcaster NBC News.

Nearly all of the victims of the shooting were Latinos, many of Puerto Rican heritage like Lopez and Miranda.

The song is the first collaboration between Lopez, 46, and Miranda, 36, whose Broadway smash Hamilton won 11 Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for drama.
