New Zealand referee Glen Jackson has been appointed to referee the Super Rugby Final between the Hurricanes and Lions.

The 40-year-old will have fellow Kiwi Ben O'Keefe and Australian Angus Gardner on the sidelines for Saturday's final.

Another New Zealander, Ben Skeen, will be the third match official, SANZAAR said on Tuesday.

"Glen has consistently delivered through the season and this is a just reward for his efforts," chief executive Andy Marinos said.

"I am confident that he will manage the final with the composure and authority required as we look forward to these two great teams doing battle."

There is no policy for having neutral referees in Super Rugby matches, although there were calls for it during this year's competition.
