Jeb! Won't Sign GOP Debate Letter

The Huffington Post The Huffington Post 4/11/2015 Ryan Grenoble

GOP presidential contender Jeb Bush won't sign a joint letter to TV networks demanding terms for future Republican debates.

An aide for Bush told Politico the news Tuesday evening, saying the former Florida governor "had no intention" of signing at this time.

In withholding his signature, Bush joins Ohio Gov. John Kasich, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Hewlett Packard CEO Carly Fiorina in refusing to endorse the protest.

Many GOP candidates' campaign representatives met Sunday to discuss changes to debates after last week's forum on MSNBC, which some candidates complained was tilted toward "gotcha" questions designed to stoke conflict.

Some candidates continue pushing ahead with the collective bargaining agreement.

"While debates are meant to include tough questions and contrast candidates' visions and policies for the future of America, CNBC's moderators engaged in a series of 'gotcha' questions, petty and mean-spirited in tone, and designed to embarrass our candidates," RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a letter to NBC, canceling the network's partnership with the GOP debate in February.
