Jeonbuk take 5th at Club World Cup soccer

Asian champions Jeonbuk Hyundai have belted South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns 4-1 in Osaka to claim fifth place in soccer's Club World Cup.

Asian champions Jeonbuk Hyundai clinched fifth place at the Club World Cup in Japan on Wednesday by thrashing South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns 4-1 in Osaka.

Goals from Kim Bo Kyung and Lee Jong Ho put Jeonbuk in control before an own-goal from Ricardo Nascimento boosted their position by the break.

Percy Tau cut the deficit for Mamelodi early in the second half but Kim Shin Wook completed the rout in the final minutes.

Later on Wednesday, J-League winners and home representatives Kashima Antlers face Copa Libertadores champions Atletico Nacional of Colombia in the first semi-final, also in Osaka. European champions Real Madrid play Club America on Thursday in Yokohama.

Real and Atletico Nacional had byes into the final four of the tournament, bringing together the club champions from the six FIFA confederations and a team from the host nation. The final is in December 18 in Yokohama.
