Joe Scarborough, Tear Down Your Walls!

The Huffington Post The Huffington Post 21/02/2016 Lev Raphael

Responding to Pope Francis's remark that "A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian," Joe Scarborough, the master of media mediocrity, tweeted the photo below with this message "Pope Francis, tear down that wall!" #vaticanwalls : 2016-02-21-1456059985-6450560-joetweet.jpg © Provided by The Huffington Post 2016-02-21-1456059985-6450560-joetweet.jpg
You'd think someone with a staff like his would have found out that the walls at the Vatican don't surround it completely, were built centuries ago, and don't really keep people out.
Anyone can gain access to St. Peter's Square. Hasn't Scarborough ever seen a new Pope address hundreds of thousands of people? He did go to a Catholic high school, after all. Hasn't he even seen a movie or a photo where tourists walk freely across the square? Is he that out of touch with reality and history?

Countless web sites would give him ticket information for visiting the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica. Vatican City is not walled off the way Donald Trump wants to wall the U.S. off from Mexico. It's a tourist attraction which has some 800-year-old walls that are part of what makes it fascinating. Maps on line that supposedly showed the Vatican walls really showed its borders.
Scarborough's the one surrounded by walls: ignorance, arrogance, and vanity.
