John Legend engaged in a Twitter exchange with Donald Trump's son on Friday night, about the Republican presidential candidate's canceled rally in Chicago, Illinois.

After Donald Trump Jr. insinuated in a tweet that some protesters at the real estate mogul's rally didn't understand their own reasons for protesting, Legend quickly stepped in to correct him.

The exchange comes shortly after Mac Miller spoke out against Donald Trump in an appearance on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore earlier this week.

"I'm gonna be here every day telling the world how much I hate you, how much of a clown you are and how we as a nation are better than you will ever be as a racist ******* of a human," he said. "Because I love America, and I'm never giving it up to a troll like you."
