South African Craig Joubert will set a record when he referees the All Blacks in their home Test against Argentina during the Rugby Championship.

Joubert will control a New Zealand Test for the 19th time in the clash at Hamilton on September 10.

It is the most by any official, lifting him ahead of retired South African Jonathan Kaplan and Welshman Nigel Owens.

Sanzaar released the Rugby Championship match officials on Thursday, with South African Jaco Peyper in charge of two of the All Blacks' six Tests - the opener against Australia in Sydney on August 20 and a Test against the Pumas in Buenos Aires.

The other referees of All Blacks fixtures are Frenchmen Romain Poite and Jerome Garces, and Australian Angus Gardner, who is yet to control a Test involving New Zealand.

The only New Zealander appointed to referee a Test is Glen Jackson, when South Africa host Argentina in the opening round at Nelspruit.
