New Zealand have fought back from a goal down to beat Tahiti 4-1 and guarantee themselves a place in the semi-finals of the Oceania under-20 championship in Vanuatu.

It was the second comfortable win for the Junior All Whites, who opened with a 3-0 win over the Cook Islands.

They will qualify for the last four regardless the result of Saturday's final pool game against the unbeaten Solomon Islands.

Rayan Petitgas scored from a free kick to put Tahiti ahead midway through the first half of Tuesday's game in Luganville.

Moses Dyer responded from the penalty spot just before halftime before New Zealand found their groove over the final half-hour of a niggly game, scoring through captain Clayton Lewis, an own goal and Myer Bevan.

The top two teams will qualifying for next year's under-20 World Cup in South Korea.
