Junior All Whites set for Honduras clash

New Zealand are leaving no stone unturned in preparing to face Honduras at the FIFA under-20 World Cup in South Korea, knowing the group match will probably determine their qualifying fate.

Following a patchy 0-0 opening draw against Vietnam, the Junior All Whites can't afford to slip up against the Central Americans in Cheonan on Thursday.

Defeat would leave coach Darren Bazeley's team probably requiring victory in their final group game against France, one of the tournament favourites.

France hammered Honduras 3-0 first up but Bazeley saw enough from their next opponents to be wary.

"Honduras are a good team. They need to come out and get a win too so we know it's going to be hard," Bazeley said.

"Hopefully, we can put on a better performance and try to win this game."

New Zealand's coaching staff have studied Honduras meticulously and rate the side highly after they lost on penalties in the final of the CONCACAF qualifying tournament.
