The Junior Tall Blacks have rounded out their three-team pre-World Cup tournament in China with a 70-64 loss to Lithuania.

The Daryl Cartwright-coached side, which earlier defeated China 89-62, slumped to a 16-point first-quarter deficit against the Lithuanians before a second-half rally reduced the gap to just six.

They'll now travel across to Egypt for the under-19 World Cup, where they've been drawn with South Korea, France and Argentina.

The Koreans shape as their first opponent on Saturday evening (NZT).

Cartwright said diet, injury and illness had all been issues in China, but that things would be different at the World Cup.

"I'm pleased with the way we finished the game and we'll certainly look to carry that momentum into our final few practices ahead of the game against Korea on Saturday," Cartwright said.

"While we came up a little short, we stormed home and could well have taken the win, but it still felt like a positive way to round off our preparations."
