Dylan Kennett has held onto second place in the Tour of Ireland after the large New Zealand contingent finished in the pack on the second stage.

Kennett is part of the Cycling New Zealand endurance track team using the race as preparation for the Rio Olympics while other Kiwi professionals are providing a presence.

The 188km stage from Mullingar to Charleville was won by Eion Morton who saw off Irish compatriot Bryan McCrystal, with the peloton crossing 11sec behind the pair.

Kennett remains 6sec behind Dutchman Taco van der Hoorn on general classification, with Madison Genesis professional Taylor Gunman seventh overall after crossing the line sixth on Monday.
