Kidnap victim makes dramatic escape by jumping out of car boot after terrifying robbery

A woman, who had been kidnapped at gunpoint and forced into the boot of a car, managed to escape after jumping out.

The 25-year-old was approached as she got to her front door with the suspect demanding money.

But when she said she had no money, he pointed the gun at her and forced her into the boot of a black Nissan Altima.

But as the suspect pulled into a petrol station, the woman managed to jump out.

She can be seen in CCTV from the forecourt hitting the floor and rolling across the floor, before making a dash for the shop.

Josef Alsabah, the owner of Gas Land, said the suspect went to the ATM.

He said: "He was not right, there was something going on with him.

"He looked like he had a pistol in his pocket, I kept an eye on him."

As he drove off Mr Alsabah said he witnessed the boot pop open and the desperate woman jump out.

"I got her inside and locked the door, then called the police," he told AL.com Alsabah said.

The kidnapping took place in Avondale, Alabama.

Police are still investigating and the woman was treated in hospital for cuts and bruises.
