Joelle King has bowed out of the women's squash world championships in Egypt, falling victim once again again to leading English rival Laura Massaro.

New Zealand world No.9 King had her moments against second-ranked Massaro before going down 7-11 8-11 11-5 11-13 in the quarter-finals in El Gouna.

It was King's fourth loss to the same opponent in the last eight months and continued a lean trot.

The 28-year-old from Cambridge hasn't advanced beyond the quarter-finals any of the last six PSA world series events.

Meanwhile, New Zealander Paul Coll has learned his semi-final opponent at the men's El Gouna International tournament which is running concurrently.

The 13th-ranked Coll will face Frenchman Gregory Gaultier, who this month climbed to top spot in the world rankings.
