She's taken the dance world by storm and now Kiwi choreographer Parris Goebel's work with Justin Bieber is up for three MTV video music awards.

The video for Bieber's hit Sorry - which featured Goebel and her dance crew The Royal Family - has been nominated for video of the year and best pop video.

Goebel also played a part in Bieber's Purpose: The Movement video, which is up for breakthrough long form video.

"This is crazy ... This such a beautiful reminder to myself that anything is possible," Goebel tweeted on Wednesday morning.

"Don't give up on your dreams, if this Polynesian high school drop out from Auckland NZ can do can do it too."

The video for Sorry has been watched on YouTube more than 1.6 billion times since it was released nine months ago.

The winners will be announced in New York at the end of next month.
