Hacksaw Ridge is up against 'Arrival', 'Hell of High Water', 'La La Land' and 'Moonlight' for the Academy Award for Best Editing.

Earlier this month he won the 2017 British Academy of Film and Television Arts award for best editing for his work on 'Hacksaw Ridge'.

Wellington-based Mr Gilbert was previously nominated for an Oscar in 2002 for his work on 'The Fellowship of the Ring' but didn't come home with one.
