A triple bogey has marred Danny Lee's final round at the Houston Open as he slid to a share of 20th.

Kiwi No.1 Lee, who began the day in 10th place, would have stayed there were it not for a disastrous outing on the par-four 11th hole in which he found the water twice.

Lee's tee-off veered right into a lake and his third shot did the same thing, forcing him to drop out twice.

He recovered to complete the round with four birdies and a lone bogey to shoot an even-par 72 and finish on six-under.

Lee's modest PGA Tour season to date means his world ranking has slipped to 108th.

He needed to win in Texas to qualify for this week's US Masters in Augusta, where he finished a creditable 17th last year.

Lee's PGA Tour points standing has improved 21 places to 116th.

The tournament was won by American Russell Henley, who stormed home with a 65 to be 20-under, three strokes clear of Korean overnight leader Sung Kang.
