KiwiRail set to resume Greymouth services

NZ Newswire logoNZ Newswire 25/01/2017

KiwiRail is set to resume services to and from Greymouth on the Midland Line after clearing slips caused by last week's severe weather.

The services, which will resume on Thursday, include the scenic TranzAlpine train.

The TranzAlpine has been running day return trips from Christchurch to Arthur's Pass while the line was shut by a large slip at Deception Point.

KiwiRail will also be running freight trains between 7.30pm and 7am, a schedule that will allow work to continue on clearing the slip from the road during daylight hours.
