Kiwis learn Classic qualifying fate

There are three wildcard Kiwis in a field of 32 who are chasing four qualifying spots. Three wins are needed to reach the tournament's main draw, starting on Monday.

The third New Zealander is Paige Hourigan, who will face Australian Arina Rodionova.

The top seed in qualifying is Japan's world No.94 Nao Hibino.

Kiwis Marina Erakovic and Jade Lewis have been handed wildcards into the main draw.
