Lydia Ko's patchy form has continued at the LPGA Tour's match play tournament in Mexico City, suffering an exit in the third round.

Kiwi world No.1 Ko lost 1-down to 25th-ranked Korean Mi Jung Hur, who advanced to the final eight of the Lorena Ochoa Match Play.

Ko trailed a fluctuating contest by two after the first three holes before squaring it when her opponent shot bogeys on the fourth and seventh holes.

Hur was a stroke clear at the turn before Ko levelled again but the Korean made her decisive move with birdies on the 13th and 14th holes.

Ko kept herself in the contest by winning the 17th hole with a birdie but ceded defeat when both players parred the par-four 18th.

Now 11 months without a tournament win, Ko is under increasing pressure to retain her top ranking.
