The 18-year-old New Zealander fired an even-par second round 72 to go with her opening round 71 at the Ko Olina Golf Club.

Ko had come into the tournament after back-to-back victories, including the year's first major, the ANA Inspiration.

But although she managed two birdies on the front nine after bogeying the par-four third, and added another birdie on the 14th, Ko faded with bogeys at the 16th and 18th.

She shares 26th place with 12 others, and is now nine shots astray of frontrunner Minjee Lee of Australia, whose second-round 66 gives her a two-stroke lead over American Katie Burnett.
