World No.1 Lydia Ko has finished fourth at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan, three shots behind play-off winner Sei Young Kim.

The 19-year-old New Zealander sunk three birdies for a fourth-round 68 to finish 14-under 270 for the weekend.

She shared fourth place with overnight leader and defending champion Lexi Thompson of the US, who slipped back after shooting one-over 72 in her final round.

South Korea's In Gee Chun, who had shared the overnight lead with Thompson, mixed three birdies with three bogeys for even-par 71 to finish third, one stroke ahead of Ko and Thompson.

Kim of South Korea had a one shot lead at the final hole but bogeyed it to be forced into a sudden-death play-off with Carlotta Ciganda.

The Spaniard bogeyed the first play-off hole, the 18th, while Kim made birdie three to claim her fifth LPGA title.
