Lydia Ko didn't drop a shot in her first round at the latest LPGA Tour event in Canada yet finds herself four shots off the pace and sitting outside the top 30.

World No.1 Ko is 34th at the Manulife LPGA Classic in Cambridge, Ontario courtesy of a two-under 70, which featured pars on every hole aside from birdies at the eighth and 16th.

The New Zealander missed a number of mid-length putts for birdie which prevented her making better headway at Whistle Bear Golf Club.

Ko is four shots shy of Korean world No.37 Chella Choi, who sits a stroke clear of four players.

Ko has some familiar faces around her, with world No.2 Ariya Jutanugarn and third-ranked Canadian Brooke Henderson also opening with 70.

The 19-year-old is coming off a seventh placing at last week's Canadian Pacific Open and, before that, a silver medal at the Rio Olympics.
