Lydia Ko is off the pace in her bid to retain her crown at the Canadian Women's Open where Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn is in hot form.

The Kiwi world No.1 won the tournament in 2012 as a 15-year-old and again in 2013 and 2015, but will start her final round on Monday morning (NZ time) seven shots behind leader Jutanugarn, the world No.2.

Ko shot a two-under par third round of 70 but Jutanugarn built on her lead with five-under par 67 to end the round at 17 under.

Ko is 10 under tied with five others.

She eagled the seventh hole, birdied 12 and bogeyed four and the rest were consistent pars.

The South Korean-born Kiwi is back on the LPGA tour after her silver medal-winning performance for New Zealand at the Rio Olympics.
