Lydia Ko has recovered from an eye problem and will tee it up early at the LPGA's first match play tournament of the year in Mexico City.

Kiwi world No.1 Ko was forced to pull out of last week's Texas Shootout in Irving at the midway point, hampered by an infection which caused her left eye to swell and spoil her vision.

She has recovered and will be top seed among 64 players at the Lorena Ochoa Match Play tournament.

Ko will be expected to beat world No.628 Ana Menendez of Mexico in the first match to tee off on Thursday.

Seventeen of the world's top 25 players are competing, including world No.3 Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand, on the opposite side of the draw to Ko.
