NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 18/06/2016

World No.1 Lydia Ko sits four shots off the pace in a share of sixth after the third round at the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan.

The 19-year-old New Zealander nailed four consecutive birdies on the back nine for her second four-under 67 of the tournament.

Defending champion Lexi Thompson shot five-under 66 for a share of the lead with South Korea's In Gee Chun, who made four birdies in a five-hole stretch on the back nine in her bogey-free 65.

Another South Korean, Sei Young Kim, also shot a third-round 65 and sits one stroke back in third on a three-round tally of 199.

Women's PGA Championship winner Brooke Henderson, who pipped Ko in a sudden death play-off at last week's major, slipped down the leaderboard into a share of 21st place after firing one-over 72.
