Lang leads LPGA event in Incheon

NZ NewswireNZ Newswire 13/10/2016

Brittany Lang used her driver to set up a tap-in eagle on the par-four 15th and birdied the last for a seven-under-par 65 and the second-round lead on Friday in the LPGA event in Incheon, South Korea.

A day after Se Ri Pak ended her Hall of Fame career in front of her home fans, Lang nearly aced the 275-yard 15th, with her ball hopping onto the green, curling right towards the pin and stopping a foot away.

On the par-five 18th, the US Women's Open champion rattled the flagstick on the first hop with a wedge, leaving a putt a couple of inches longer than the one on 15.

Alison Lee, the first-round leader after a 65, had a second-round 70 to fall a stroke back.

Minjee Lee is the best-placed Australian and is five shots behind Lang after a second-round 70 gave her a tie for seventh.
