Junior Tall Blacks guard Isaac Letoa has scored a full academic scholarship with top US Ivy League outfit Dartmouth College.

Letoa, who currently plays for Wellington Saints in the New Zealand national league, has signed with division one team Dartmouth after receiving multiple offers from the US.

He will also study engineering, concentrating on product and industrial design.

The 18-year-old guard was part of the Junior Tall Blacks team which scored an upset win over Australia in last year's Oceania championships to earn a spot at the Junior World Cup in July.

Head coach David McLaughlin says he's confident Letoa will be a perfect fit for the Dartmouth programme.

"He embodies so much of what we look for: a love for the game, a winning and competitive approach every time he is on the court, high basketball acumen, and a work ethic where he truly wants to get better each day."
