Leverkusen edge closer to ECL last 16

Tottenham Hotspur need to claim at least a point at Monaco to keep their UEFA Champions League hopes alive after Bayer Leverkusen drew with CSKA Moscow.

Bayer Leverkusen drew 1-1 at CSKA Moscow on Tuesday, a result that could see the Germans qualify for the Champions League knockout stages by the end of the day.

Unmarked forward Kevin Volland scored the opening goal for the visitors in freezing Moscow in the 16th minute off a fine cross from Kevin Kampl.

Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno made big saves against Alexandre Golovin but was eventually beaten by a 76th-minute penalty from Israel's Bibras Natcho after Benjamin Henrichs had brought down Mario Fernandes.

Leverkusen have seven points to trail Group E leaders Monaco by one, and could clinch a place in the last 16 if Monaco beat Tottenham Hotspur later on Tuesday.
