Robert Lewandowski has been made a substantial offer to extend his contract with Bayern Munich, according to the Bundesliga club's president Uli Hoeness.

The Pole's current deal runs until 2019 but Hoeness says Bayern are keen to improve his terms and tie him down longer.

"It's just up to him now - he's got an offer," Hoeness told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper. "And it is not like Bayern don't want to keep him.

"I know some of the figures and certainly if you didn't want (to extend his contract), it would look different to this."

Lewandowski moved to 11 goals for the season with his brace in a 5-0 win over Wolfsburg on Saturday.

The 28-year-old was the Bundesliga's top-scorer last season with 30 goals while he has now scored 58 times in 77 league games for the record champions.

He found the back of the net 74 times in 131 games for former club Borussia Dortmund and has twice been the Bundesliga's top-scorer.
