Press AssociationPress Association 6 days ago

Socceroo Massimo Luongo has set up the winner for Queens Park Rangers in the English second-tier side's 1-0 victory over Bristol City.

Tjaronn Chery found Luongo on the right and the Australian's marvellous cross was met with an emphatic first-time finish by striker Idrissa Sylla in the 75th minute on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT).

Rangers' win, only their third in 10 league matches, was thoroughly deserved given their second-half dominance, and came despite them losing Joel Lynch and Jordan Cousins to injury.

Both teams created openings in an even first half at Loftus Road.

Sylla headed rom Chery's corner and Luongo was denied by a last-ditch challenge from Adam Matthews after bursting into the City box.

QPR sit ninth on the Championship ladder and nine adrfit leaders Newcastle.
