Manly have been dealt a blow with prop Darcy Lussick to miss the opening five games of the NRL season due to a wrist injury.

The 27-year-old, back at the Sea Eagles for his second stint after leaving Parramatta, went under the knife on Wednesday.

"Prop Darcy Lussick will miss the first five rounds of the season after undergoing wrist surgery today. Best wishes for speedy recovery," the Sea Eagles tweeted.

The setback means Lussick won't be available until Manly face St George Illawarra in round six in April at Brookvale Oval.
