Lydia Ko has unleashed a blistering third-round 64 to climb into contention at the latest LPGA Tour event in Canada.

After fighting to make the cut on Friday, world No.1 Ko produced the best round by anyone at the LPGA Classic so far, shooting four birdies on both the front and back nine in a flawless eight-under round.

The New Zealander shares seventh place on 10-under, four strokes behind Mi Hyang Lee, who sits one clear of fellow Korean Hyo Joo Kim at The Whistling Bear course in Cambridge, Ontario.

Two Thai players are third on 12-under, including world No.2 Ariya Jutanugarn, who is pursuing a third successive LPGA Tour win.

Ko, 19, finally found her rhythm after two mixed opening rounds which left her 44th and seemingly well out of contention

Revelling in calm morning conditions, she birdied three of her first five holes and enjoyed a purple patch on the back nine, picking up shots on the 12th, 13th and 14th.
