Made in NZ video games demonstrated at Parliament

April 12, 2017. New Zealand's growing video games industry was showcased at an all-day event at Parliament on Wednesday afternoon. Green MP Gareth Hughes, Labour MP Clare Curran, Play by Play, and the NZ Game Developers Association were present to answer questions and to showcase the games on display. Mr Hughes says the industry earned $89 million in 2016, with 13% annual revenue growth. 92% of revenue is from exports of digital, weightless, hi-tech creative products: "The NZ game industry flows under the radar but It has a huge growth potential. I want to encourage it so today was all about highlighting some of the great creations we have in New Zealand." (NZN VIDEO/Bernardo Vieira/Christopher Clapham)
