Music fans on their way to the Splore festival are facing major traffic delays after a car crashed into a power pole and knocked down power lines.

Nobody was injured in the crash on the Clevedon-Kawakawa Road, south of Auckland.

But traffic is set to be affected for up to two hours.

Motorists are being redirected to travel via Miranda, south of the festival.

Those attending the NZ Polo Open will be able to access the venue but are being warned of heavy traffic, diversions and significant delays.

Police have warned drivers to slow down, drive safely and allow extra time for their journey.
