Man charged over fatal Dunedin bike crash

A Chinese national has been charged over a crash that killed Dunedin photographer Riley Baker.

Mr Baker, 26, died on Monday morning following a collision between his motorbike and a car on State Highway 1 on Saturday.

Shanghai man Limin Ma, 41, appeared in Dunedin District Court on Tuesday charged with careless driving causing injury over the incident.

He will appear again next week.

Since Mr Baker's death, tributes have flowed in on his Facebook page, with friends describing him as a talented and inspirational photographer.

Mr Baker won the 2016 Otago Wildlife Photography Competition in June.
