A man will face court accused of approaching women in west Auckland and exposing himself and performing indecent acts.

The 33-year-old man will appear Waitakere District Court on March 28 facing seven counts of committing an indecent act in a public place.

Police say they had earlier received a number of reports of a man approaching women walking on or near the Henderson Creek cycleway and exposing himself or committing an indecent act.

Then on Thursday an officer on foot patrol came upon two women on the phone to police.

The women had been walking the cycleway when a man rode past on a mountain bike without any pants on, Detective Senior Sergeant Roger Small said.

He is then alleged to have stopped at a park bench and performed an indecent act as the women walked past.

He was arrested shortly after.
