Manchester City have romped to a 4-0 win over West Ham to boost their chances of a top four finish in the English Premier League.

Manchester City cruised to a 4-0 win at West Ham on Wednesday to boost their challenge for a top-four spot in the Premier League.

Kevin de Bruyne, David Silva, Gabriel Jesus and a Yaya Toure penalty completed the win, putting City level on points with fourth-placed Liverpool.

"Our high pressing was good," City manager Pep Guardiola said. "We were so aggressive without the ball.

"Gabriel Jesus is a fighter with instinct for the goal. He's good at assists too."

Guardiola left striker Sergio Aguero and goalkeeper Claudio Bravo on the bench, retaining Gabriel Jesus and Willy Caballero.

De Bruyne put City ahead after 17 minutes and Silva scored from close range four minutes later and Gabriel Jesus made it 3-0 just before half-time with a simple finish.

Toure then finished things off on 67 minutes with the fourth goal from the penalty spot after Jose Fonte tripped Raheem Sterling.

"We played a front three with an average age of 20," Guardiola said.

"I like the fans to be excited. Those players are the future of the club. Leroy Sane had some problems at the beginning but now he's settled. They will be important players for the next few years."

City's win was followed by rivals Manchester United's goalless draw with bottom club Hull City at Old Trafford.
