Man denies Rotorua attempted murder

A Rotorua man has pleaded not guilty to a charge of attempted murder and will stand trial next year.

Alexander Hayden Mowbray, 24, along with Joshua Homan, is charged with attempting to murder Jackson Ruha at Rotorua on October 20.

At the High Court at Rotorua on Wednesday, Justice Timothy Brewer remanded Mowbray in custody, but told him he would be eligible to apply for bail.

He and Homan are to reappear again on February 15.

Justice Brewer set their trial date for October 2 next year.
