A man arrested during a south Auckland police raid that turned up military-grade weapons and a haul of meth has pleaded guilty to drugs and guns charges.

Shane Hannon, 37, was arrested in March after police said they found $500,000 worth of methamphetamine and $150,000 in cash at his apartment, and a secret room with a meth lab at a "heavily-fortified" Takanini warehouse.

A search of a nearby house found 14 guns, including AK47s and M16s, with some hidden in the ceiling, police said at the time.

In the High Court at Auckland on Wednesday, Hannon pleaded guilty to a seven charges including manufacturing meth, possession for supply and unlawfully having restricted weapons.

Hannon admitted he had three AK47s, six AR-15 rifles, a M4 rifle along with pistols and a large amount of ammo in his possession at the time.

He will be sentenced on November 1.
