Marina Erakovic has fought back to win an exhausting semi-final in Morocco and set up a shot at her second career WTA final.

Erakovic will face a test of her fitness when she meets top seed Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland in the final of the Grand Prix De SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem in Rabat.

It took more than 2-1/2 hours for world 186th-ranked New Zealander Erakovic to beat 97th-ranked Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands 2-6 7-6 7-5.

The second set tiebreaker swung the momentum of the match, with Erakovic prevailing 9-7.

The Kiwi won less points than her opponent - 109 to 119 - and was second in a number of serving statistic categories but did enough on the key points to reach the clay court decider.

World No.15 Bacsinszky had a more comfortable passage, beating Timea Babos of Hungary 6-4 7-5.

Bacsinszky is chasing a fourth career title while 28-year-old Erakovic, who needed to win three qualifying matches simply to mke the main draw, is out to add to her lone triumph at Memphis in 2013

The pair have met twice previously, with the Swiss winning both times in three sets - last year in California and in qualifying for the 2007 Australian Open.
