Departing batsman Hamish Marshall has put Gloucestershire in control of their county championship game against Glamorgan after scoring his fourth century of the season.

Former Black Cap Marshall compiled 101 from 189 balls, with 16 fours, as Gloucestershire closed on 347-8, a lead of 127 after two days.

With the ninth wicket pair of Payne and Josh Shaw having already shared an unbroken partnership of 56 for the ninth wicket, Glamorgan have much to do if they are to avoid losing their seventh championship game of a disappointing season.

Marshall returns to New Zealand at the end of the season after spending eleven seasons in the West Country. He will play for Wellington.

The 37-year-old played 13 tests and 63 one-day internationals for New Zealand before heading to England fulltime under an Irish passport after the 2007 World Cup.
