The 24-year-old midfielder opened the scoring in the 15th minute, finishing off an excellent run from Amy Robinson.

Tessa Jopp then got the last touch on a cracking Ella Gunson strike to double the scoreline early in the second quarter.

McCann slammed home her second just before half-time, finishing off a sweeping counter-attack, to give the Kiwis a 3-0 lead at the main break.

New Zealand lost momentum in the third stanza, and although they lifted in the final quarter, couldn't add to their tally despite some promising set piece chances.

The fifth-ranked Black Sticks lead the five-Test series 4-0, winning the first two Tests in Pukekohe 4-1 and 8-2 then downing world No.12 India 3-2 in game three on Wednesday.

The final Test is in Hamilton on Saturday.
